Just west of the city of Washington D.C. lies the city of Arlington, Virginia. It's just a ten to fifteen minute metro ride from the heart of Washington D.C. It is home to one of the most moving stops in the area and part of my most recent post-it note trip to Washington D.C. The Arlington National Cemetery was established in 1864 after the Union confiscated the land that once belonged to Ulysses S. Grant. It was founded as a ste for the casualties of the American Civil War.

In 1632 Maryland would be established as an American colony with the help of Lord Baltimore who would provide the area as a haven for persecuted Catholics. In 1649 the city of Annapolis would be founded near the Chesapeake Bay. This great city and state would be part of my most recent post-it note trip to the Mid-Atlantic and New England States. Annapolis is an amazing city that offers an extraordinary history going back to the 17tb Century. There are so many excellent restau
