Nashville offers many historical roads throughout the city. Today I was on one of those roads on my way to pick up an individual at Belmont University who was a student there but found a fun fact about this individual whose great grandfather was Great Grandfather Manuel Roxas who was the former President of the Phillipines back in the 1940's during the World War Two era. He even provided a post-it note for the Phillipines.
The long stretch of road that I drove to pick this individual up is 17th Avenue South that sits between Demonbreun Street and Wedgewood Avenue. This area is also part of Music Row, which has all the recording studios that make up 16th and 17th Avenue. From RCA, Sony, BMI, Smack Records, Big Loud, and many more epic recording studios. Popular Belmont Mansion and University sits at the south area of this stretch. This is also part of the Hop On And Hop Off Bus routes throughout Nashville.
There are dining options nearby that have been recommended to me by post-it notes and had excellent dining experiences with each one. Egghill for breakfast, Sadie's for brunch, Bella Napoli for Italian, The Common Club for an upscale cocktail and dining, and Funny Library Coffee Shop for great coffee, teas, and morning pastries. The Common Club and Funny Library are both located at the Virgin Hotel, which offers an exceptional experience for hotel stays on the north end of 17th Avenue.
This is a great area to explore when visiting Nashville whether you're looking for a historical recording studios, mansion, college, great restaurants, plus a central hotel nearby. This area is only eight minutes to ten minutes from Broadway and fifteen to twenty minutes from the airport. Adding a day exploring the area around 17th Avenue South is well worth it. #ridingwithkurt
