Last weekend, I gave a ride to someone who worked at Belle Meade Winery and Plantation. Today, I stopped by to check out this amazing historic site. Located in the city of Belle Meade among the old Pines, Magnolias, and Oak Trees near Richland Creek, you'll find a beautiful mansion that has a rich history for the area
In 1807, John Harding purchased 250 acres and built his first cabin. The area provided a constant flow of travelers and visitors, which helped build his income. In 1820, he built a larger home, which became the family legacy. Over the next 50 years, the family would be one of the wealthiest in the state of Tennessee. The Harding's are still recognized today for their dedication to the early History of Nashville and the State.
Today you can tour the premises and take in the beauty of the area. They offer tours of the property and mansion, as well as wine tastings. Additionally, they have a great dining experience at the Belle Meade Meat and three.
The Belle Meade Meat and Three offers various southern classics from smoked meats, fried catfish, and wonderful sides. Today, I had their smoked meatloaf with sweet potato casserole and green beans. The meal was fantastic and the service was excellent.
From history to great food, a stop at the Belle Meade Winery and Plantation is one you won't want to miss. The peaceful environment allows you to enjoy the history of the area. Definitely add this to your next location when visiting Nashville. #ridinwithkurt
