Belmont University and Mansion Nashville, TN

One place to visit while visiting Nashville is the Belmont University and Mansion. The Mansion was built in 1853 for the Acklen family as their summer home. By 1960, they expanded the Mansion to 36 rooms along with gardens, marble floors, and many other key features for the 177 acre estate.

Today, you can tour the mansion and take in the history of the beautiful home to the Acklen family. Additionally, you can walk around Belmont University and take in the beautiful architecture the school has become known for. The school I popular for their music programs and some key artists have come out of the college including Moon Taxi.

Belmont is close walking distance to music row, which lies on 16th and 17th Avenue. Restaurants next to the campus include Chago's, Bongo Java, Proper Bagel, International Market, and Athens Restaurant. Hillsboro Village is also close buy and offers great shopping and restaurants, including Pancake Pantry, Ruby Sunshine, and Double Dogs. The Moxy Hotel is there as well for stays. Finally, 12th South is down the road and offers shopping and restaurants. Urban Grub, Emery Woodfired, The Frothy Monkey, Burger Up, The Butter Milk Ranch, and Embers Ski Lodge are some great restaurants.

This is a great area to check out when visiting Nashville. Plenty to do just in this area alone whether it be from history, shopping, food, or even music. You can spend an entire day in this area alone. #ridingwithkurt
