The construction began on the Mansion in 1929. In 1932, the mansion was finally completed, and the Cheek family moved in right before the holidays. The thing about this amazing property and their original owners, Leslie Cheek Sr. and Mabel Wood Cheek of how they gained their wealth and became influential into the community of Nashville and Belle Meade. In the early 1900s, a distribution company called C. T. Cheek-Neal Coffee Company, the producer of Maxwell House Coffee. In 1928, he sold the company for $45 million to Poston Foods.
