Clearwater, FL is located just west of Tampa Bay and is a great beach destination with plenty to do. The accessibility to not only the beach is a plus but to plenty of restaurants and tourist stops nearby.
Two restaurants that I highly recommend are Frenchy's Rockaway Grill and Crabby's Dockside. Both have great views of the Gulf and menu's that can appeal to any one looking for great seafood dishes for the region.
A stop for all those young and old is the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The aquarium is home to sea turtle rescue and offers behind the scenes tours to the amazing program. Additionally, all types of sealife can be found at the aquarium.
The beaches are prestine white with clear waters and the water is clear with an ability to snorkel, swim, even body board when the tide is right.
Pier 60 is also a nice stop and offers great sunset views. Fishing is also available at the pier. Around the pier you can find several entertainers and local vendors selling local goods from the area.
Just north of Clearwater Beach you can visit Caldesi Island State park. The park has 3 miles of trails located on the island and beautiful views of the gulf.
If you like putt putt head to Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf. Mini-golf course featuring waterfalls, caves & live alligators that visitors can feed. It's a fun stop for the entire family.
One final recommendation is the restaurant Sloppy Joe's located in Madeira Beach. The historic restaurant offers menu items from classic breakfast dishes to inspired gulf dishes for lunch and dinner. The restaurant has a Key West theme with spectacular Gulf views.
A trip to Clearwater will leave you with plenty of memories and a great time visiting this beautiful area of the Sunny West Coast of Florida.
