Over the past couple of days, a state that keeps being brought up with individuals that I have given rides to is Colorado. There are some stops that you must check out when visiting that have been recommended to me by post-it notes. Great food and scenery are a part of this journey to this great Western state.
Idaho Springs is located about 45 minutes west of Denver. This is a quaint little Colorado mountain town that offers great pizza, BBQ, and shops. Two restaurants to check out include:
Beau Jo's Pizza - Incredible Colorado Pizza saves the crust to drizzle the honey on it. Smokin Yards BBQ - Incredible BBQ in the heart the Rockies.
Keystone known for their skiing is also home to a popular steak restaurant. The Snake River Saloon and Steakhouse offers amazing dining experiences with incredible steaks, prime rib, and other tasty items. Keystone is a neat area, and the village also offers shops and other dining experiences. While you're there, head east up to the Loveland Pass to take incredible views of the Continental Divide.
Colorado Springs, located south of Denver, has two beautiful stops. The Garden of the God's is an incredible hiking area with some great views. The Cave of the Wind offers a beautiful drive up to the park along with some true Colorado mountain views.
If you're going to add one venue to watch a concert from then, a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater is a must. Located west of Denver, this spiritual music venue offers amazing views of the valley plus hiking around this Amphitheater during the day. If you're attending Red Rocks for a concert dress accordingly due to changes in the weather.
North of Denver is the town of Boulder. Hiking around the Flatirons is one experience you'll want to check out. These iconic rock formations rise out of the ground and are the backdrop to the city of Boulder.
Colorado is an amazing experience and one i look forward to traveling back to again. I'm looking forward to making it back to Red Rocks Amphitheater to see Lord Huron again this year. For stays, I generally stay at the Hyatt House Denver Tech Center. Add Colorado for traveling to in 2025.#ridingwithkurt
