The Western United States offers so much unique history and geography. Early Pioneers who migrated west during the great migration in the 1800s sought out two things opportunities and gold. Gold would be discovered in California in the mid 1840s and 1850s, and soon, people would be moving to California to strike it rich. An area that became popular with this migration was southern California. Especially the desert, which now offers a beauty, history, culinary flair, along with an incredible national park.
I have received so many post-it note recommendations for all over the world, but there is one stop that you'll want to add for travels in 2025. Additionally, the National Park offers some of the best celestial views in the world, which I'm looking forward to traveling back to see. Death Valley National Park is two hours west of Las Vegas. It's the lowest elevation in North America at 282 feet below sea level. Additionally, it is one of the hottest areas of the United States, with temperatures in the summer reaching above 130 degrees. The park offers incredible views of the desert along with the history of the borax trade that occurred in this area of California. The area became known as Death Valley for those who were passing through the valley on their way to southern California for the gold rush. Unfortunately, during this time, individuals lost their lives due to high heat, dehydration, and exhaustion. Te Borax trade thrived with the help of mules and those dedicated to thriving in extreme conditions that profited from the trade. Today, you can visit the sights of Death Valley and the former areas of the Borax trade. Notable stops for Death Valley include Death Valley Junction, Zubriskie Point, Harmony Borax works, Beatty Junction, and Furnace Creek. For gift shops near Death Valley, check out Death Valley Market Place.
Incredible history along with superb views and only two hours from Las Vegas. The Death Valley experience will not disappoint you with the desert, the history, an eerie feeling from its past, and the natural beauty. Add Death Valley National Park as a place to travel to in 2025. #ridingwithkurt
