Gatlinburg, TN, is located about an hour and a half northeast of Knoxville, which has been a treasure for tourism for this area for decades. The area sits in the heart of the Smokies and offers plenty of activities from fly fishing and fishing along the Pigeon River, to tourists stops, to plenty of hiking, backpacking and camping. There are plenty of restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines and a true taste of the area.

The Aquarium of the Smokies is a must stop and is an amazing place. It has a wide variety of sealife and attractions to see here. The aquarium sits at the heart of Gatlinburg and has plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

An amazing Steakhouse is the Peddler. This icon of restaurants is amazing with a view of the Pigeon River asyou feast on some amazing menu items plus a salad bar that is unlike any other.

For a day trip head to Cades Cove. The history in this area is just as amazing as the views and you will not be disappointed with what the area has to offer from the historical stops, to the fishing and Fly Fishing, to the hiking you can spend an entire day in this spot just enjoying the backdrop of the Smokies in this beautiful valley.

Another stop is Ober Gatlinburg. This mountainside amusement park features skiing, mini-golf, wildlife encounters, a mall & more. Plus a view from the area of Gatlinburg is amazing.

Gatlinburg is an amazing stop and will add a special sense of East Tennessee culture, history, and tourist stops that you won't want to miss. There is no wrong time of year to visit this amazing area as it always will offer plenty to see and do.
