The city of Nashville not only offers incredible dining, music, history, arts, and hotels, but it also has plenty of great parks and hiking throughout the area. Throughout the city, you'll find plenty of Greenways and hiking trails. One park to check out that is located just twenty minutes from downtown Nashville and incorporates the beauty of western Nashville but also offers a blissful walk near the Harpeth River.
Hidden Lake State Park is located in between Bellevue and Pegram, TN on McCrory Lane. The park offers over a mile long trail to the Hidden Lake. The historic area was part of a resort that was that was around in the 1930s. Today, you can see remnants of this areas history with the lake, the hiking trails, and the Harpeth River. The area also offers great fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and even wild life watching. Highly recommend getting snacks and beverages prior to spending a day here as resources are limited.
If you're looking for dining options, there are places in Bellevue, Kingston Springs, and Bon Aqua, which are about ten to fifteen minutes from the park. Some dining options that have been recommended to me by post-it notes near Hidden Lake include Skyking Pizza in Kingston Springs, Loveless Cafe in Bon Aqua, and Jonathan's Grill in Bellevue. Additionally, there is Montgomery Bell State Park about twenty to thirty minutes away, which is another great park with an amazing restaurant. Finally, there is the Beacon Light Tea Room about thirty minutes away. This is a true hidden gem like Hidden Lake. Incredible southern foods and quaint dining experience.
The area around Hidden Lake is one that is still a secret along with the western side of Nashville. If you're looking for hiking, then head to Hidden Lake for an amazing experience on the Western side of Nashville. Add Hidden Lake for your next outdoor adventure in Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
