Jinsei Sushi Oxford, MS

Back in September, I gave a guy a ride who played for the University of Mississippi and told me about some of his favorite dining spots in Oxford, MS. Today, after an amazing game between Ole Miss and Texas A & M, I walked around the Grove and then headed to one of his recommendations. Now, if you would have told me that there is an amazing sushi place with an incredible ambiance and dining experience, I would never have mixed Oxford with that. Tonight I dined at Jinsei, which is a popular sushi restaurant in Oxford, and I can tell you the experience was fantastic. From the service to the food to the ambiance, this place had it all. The menu is a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant with some fusion, which ranges from appetizers, salads, a wide variety of sushi, and entrees plus amazing cocktails. For the cocktail, I had their Cucumber Mojito, which I found very refreshing with Cucumber and mint and accompanied well with the dishes I had this evening. I began with their Miso Soup, and it was incredibly flavorful with a rich Miso Broth, tofu, seaweed, and chive. For the next course, I had their Wakame Seaweed Salad, which included was amazing with seaweed, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and lemon slices. For the final course, I had two sushi rolls. The first was the Jari Jari roll, which had tempura shrimp, crab, avocado, cucumber, yamagobo, eel sauce, and tempura flakes The second roll was the Spiro Roll, which had spicy tuna, tempura asparagus, salmon, avocado, spicy mayo, and tempura flakes. Both rolls were spectacular with tremendous flavor in both. The complete dining experience at Jinsei was superb and highly recommended this hidden sushi gem in Oxford. One thing to note is that they do not take reservations, so arrive when the doors open because the wait is worth it. #ridingwithkurt
