Kingston Springs and Bon Aqua, TN

Just west of Nashville you'll find the small towns of Kingston Springs and Bon Aqua. Both of these spots may not seem like much but offer some culinary treasures and some things to do with your visit to Middle Tennessee. Whether you are looking for some local vibe or outdoor experiences this area you won't want to look over.

The town of Kingston Springs is located off of exit 188 on Interstate 40 and offers plenty of experiences. The town is small but there are a couple of stops you will not want to miss for dinner and some live music. Skyking Pizza is located in downtown and probably the best pizza you'll ever come across. Generally I go with the Goforth, loaded with toppings which include pepperoni, house made sausage, Italian Salami, Prosciutto and ham. The sauce is amazing and the crust is unlike any other. Other pizza's include BBQ chicken, Very Veggie and the Selma. For great live music head to the Fueling Station right next door and take in a dive bar look with some great local artists. Plus it has a great burger.

The Harpeth River is located just down the road and you can enjoy this amazing river for the fishing, fly fishing, kayak and canoe enthusiasts. Another stop is the Narrows of the Harpeth located on the Harpeth which offers spectacular views.

For a breakfast or lunch stop head to the Beacon Light Tearoom. This historic restaurant is a icon to the area of Bon Aqua and the biscuits are just as good as the experience. The menu has amazing fried Chicken, Country Ham and Hamburger Steak. The sides are freshly prepared daily and will add additional smiles to your entrees from this amazing surprise of a place.

A stop at these two towns just off of Interstate 40 will add an true middle Tennessee experience for some hidden gems.
