After spending some time with friends back in Billings, I ventured west to Bozeman, MT. The drive from Billings to Bozeman is incredible as you slowly approach the mountains and this incredible town. But there is one place that a rider told me about that I truly had been looking forward to trying out again since the late 1990s when I lived in Montana. MacKenzie River Pizza Company, located in downtown Bozeman, offers incredible pizza, shareables, and other delicious items. The restaurant has a cozy western atmosphere with pictures of the surrounding natural beauty on its walls. For starters, I had their bison chili. A hearty chili with ground bison, corn, beans, and tomatoes topped with Cheddar and crema. The dish was absolutely delicious and was well seasoned but not too spicy. For pizza, I had the Rancher with ground beef, pepperoni, bacon, tomatoes, red onion, bell peppers, delicious tomato sauce, and mozzarella The pizza was excellent with a nice thin crisp crust. For beer pairing for the chili and pizza, I had the Driftboat Amber Ale based out of Great Falls, MT. The amber beer had a nice balance of flavor with hops and taste and didn't overpower the flavors to take away from the pizza or the chili. MacKenzie River Pizza Company is definitely a place you'll want to add for dining when visiting Bozeman, MT. #ridingwithkurt
