An area of South Carolina that you'd never think about stopping at for a culinary treat and things to do is Manning, SC. Located off of Interstate 95 the area offers great fishing, boating and even a quick pit stop for a culinary hidden treasure.


Two lakes just sit south of the small South Carolina town Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie. Both offer great fishing for Bass, Bluegill, and Catfish. Plus many come to these lakes for boating and to experience a true southern life on these great bodies of water as you cast your worries away from any type of city life.


For a culinary treat of the area head to Porter Jack's located in downtown Manning. The restaurant is quaint and offers a nice selection of menu items from steaks to seafood items plus some good appetizers and salads. The Ribeye is very tender and flavorful there, along with the Shrimp and Grits, BBQ and Grits, Myers Catfish Stew, and Palmetto Chicken are all dishes that you cannot go wrong with.


Manning offers a rich history dating back to the times before the Civil War and was a center for many American History events. For those traveling along Interstate 95 you will definitely want to make the quick stop on Manning, SC.
