Medford, OR


For a cultural and outdoor experience head to Medford, OR. Located in the Southern Oregon just north of the California border the city and surrounding area has plenty to do. Whether you are into the arts or an avid outdoorsman into hiking and fishing you will no be disappointed with this Pacific Northwest town.

Vogel Plaza is a center for cultural events especially on the weekends. Every late spring in May the Plaza host the Art in Bloom festival. It offers local vendors and a kid friendly atmosphere for the event.

For hiking head to Madrone trail, Prescott park and Greenstone trail head. All three offer a unique hiking experience fir the southern Oregon area and offer very beautiful scenery for the area.

For dining experiences head to Black Bear diner, Elmer's restaurant (breakfast only plus a great way to start the day), and Porter's dining at the depot. All three will not disappoint your dining experience in Medford.

For Fishing and fly fishing head to the Rogue River. Located just outside the city of Medford it offers some world class fishing for steel head from August to May. Additionally, the Applegate River, a tributary to the Rogue, offers steelhead opportunities during the month of March. A short 90 minute drive east puts you in the Klamath Basin where you can experience quality wild trout fishing on the spring-fed Wood and Williamson Rivers. Guided tours are available as well.

Oregon is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts as well as those that are looking for an alternative location for not only the outdoors but the culture that Southern Oregon has to offer.
