Northeastern Arizona is an amazing area to see. It's somewhat of a spiritual experience being in the desert and very few cities nearby. One park to check out is Monument Valley. This park has been part of a discussion for the past few days. Monument Valley was a post-it note recommendation that I was able to experience back in 2023. It's a park with Buttes and incredible desert beauty.
Located on the Navajo reservation halfway between Moab, Utah, and Page, Arizona. This park is home to old western and present movies. Movies like Forrest Gump, Back To The Future Part III, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, National Lampoon's Vacation, Easy Rider, Once Upon A Time In The West, Stagecoach, and many more. The park is open year round and is part of the Colorado Plateau. I found June as a great time to see the park and caught the sunset, which was amazing with reflection of the glow of the sun off of the buttes and desert. There is a seventeen mile loop inside the park that offers amazing scenic beauty and incredible rock formations. There are tours for the park, and the entry fee is $8.00 per person. The last entry into the park is at 2:30 pm with hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hiking is available throughout the park.
For stays, I drove two hours east to Page, Arizona, to stay on my next leg of the journey I was on at Quality Inn View Of Lake Powell. The park does offer a hotel and cabin. The hotel in the park is called The View At Monument Valley. There is a visitor center located near the park as well.
Monument Valley is a place where you feel as if you have set back in time. The scenery, the Navajo culture, and the history of this amazing area of the United States. Add Monument Valley for an experience in 2025. #ridingwithkurt
