My First Post-it Note

We all have those first in our lives. Maybe it was a first date, a first kiss, a first time traveling, attending a concert of your favorite band for the first time, finding peace finally, or even the first thing that defines who you are as a person. For me, it's this picture of what I put on my vision wall last year. It's also the steps over the last year that would follow.

Over a year ago I took a trip out to Idaho to see a friend's wedding and do something that I haven't done in a while and that is to go on a solo trip without my kids. I might have been going there for the wedding but I was also going out there to find peace when so much in the previous months before had seemed like I wasn't sure where and what I wanted to do. I spent two days in the wilderness fly-fishing on the South Fork of the Snake River. In those two days, I found myself and realized while hiking, fly-fishing, taking in God's beauty, and realized I had found a self of me that I had forgotten about. I took a picture of a rainbow and a bridge realizing future blessings were coming and realized I was about to cross into the next side of my life.

That trip was also special because I created my first Post-it note. I then after that started writing out all the places I wanted to travel to on some Post-it notes, not realizing how that was going to define my future. I realized how much I loved to travel and realized that was my future.

Shortly after that trip, I began doing Uber and began meeting fascinating people from all over the world. I said to myself, "I better write some of these places down people are telling me about." So I started carrying Post-it Notes with me and started collecting anything travel related for all over the world. I believed that I was going to see all seven continents based on post-it notes.

A few weeks later, I began this, and a couple entered my car , hence the beginning of Ridingwithkurt.com and a guy named Tyler from Austin, TX. I never knew at first, but this was the beginning of my new life, but it truly is. I have a book now for all things travel based on post-it notes, and I welcome the journey ahead. #ridingwithkurt
