The weather couldn't be more beautiful for the beginning of March here in Nashville this weekend. This type of weather will want you to get out and check out some stops throughout Nashville that are outdoors. Many of these outdoor experiences include 12th Avenue South, The Nashville Farmers Market, Shelby Bottoms, Percy Warner Park, and The Nashville Zoo. The Nashville Zoo is a wonderful experience, and with sunny skies this weekend, it's definitely worth checking out.
The Nashville Zoo is located about twenty minutes southeast of downtown Nashville. The zoo is the ninth largest one in the country and offers over ninety acres of various wildlife, sea life, and birds. They have various activities, including a petting area, a zip line, a historical home, a jungle gym, gift shops, concessions, and animals from all over the world. I have been taking my kids to this zoo for years, and they have always enjoyed it as well as the other individuals I have picked up from the zoo over the past couple of years.
Dining options outside the Zoo that have been recommended to me by post-it notes include Edessa Restaurant amazing Turkish dining experience, Kabob House incredible kabobs with awesome greek and Turkish foods, Plaza Mariachi for a cultural approach, and Prince's Hot Chicken which is located about ten minutes from the Zoo and is the original hotels Chicken location.
The Nashville Zoo is just as much as part of the Nashville scene as so many other places throughout the city. Tickets are $25 dollars per person. Also, note that the Nashville Zoo on March 1st will be hosting the Zoo Run Run. The park closes at 1:00 pm. On Saturday, but you can still be a part of this amazing zoo with a 5K run along with the herd. Add a stop at the Nashville Zoo for your next outside experience in Nashville, TN, along with some great dining nearby. #ridingwithkurt
