New Orleans, LA

New Orleans is a city of history, amazing food, and a part of the beginnings of the United States. Its beginnings go back to the 1700s when various groups began migrating there to avoid the persecution of the events occurring in France and eventually Canada and North America. The Creole people settled the area around New Orleans in the Bayou and created their own settlements. E Louisiana Purchase.


Over the past 300 years, the city has gone from French Colonization to Spanish control to eventually the Louisiana Purchase. During the War of 1812, it would become a place where those of New Orleans would defeat the British last hopes for control of the Mississippi Delta. With Andrew Jackson and his mighty army, they would create a defense that the invasion by the British army could not break.


Today, the city of New Orleans exhibits plenty of its past with those of the Creole, Cajun, French, Africa, Spanish, and even Southern cuisine that adapted from its history. There are several areas of history and food to check out. One place that is a must is Cafe Du Monde, located in the French Quarter it's the original and was founded in 1862. Their Beignets are amazing. Another popular restaurant that has historical significance is Commander's Palace, which was established since 1893 but landed its mark in New Orleans around 1974. Prior to the restaurant, the British army used it for its commanders and generals. Hince the name.


One history stop that is a must is the World War Two muesem located in New Orleans. It's the largest and offers a

complete history of World War Two from the beginning to the American entrance from Pearl Harbor to the final conclusion with VE Day and VJ Day. It additionally shows how the Allied armies were a long shot of the Axis army during WW 2. The muesem offers an amazing history of WW 2 and all the parts from beginning to end. When individuals ask me about a place to see in New Orleans, this is the top one on my lists.


A visit to New Orleans offers so much from great food to Bourbon Street plus history and culture. You will never be disappointed when visiting this area along the Mississippi Delta. #ridingwithkurt
