There are so many great areas throughout the United States that I have traveled to by post-it note plus stops here in Nashville, TN. There is one town over the past couple of years that I have enjoyed with their food, the town, the individuals there, the football, and the overall culture. I even gave the mayor of this great town a ride where she even provided me some post-it note recommendations for the city she represents.
Oxford, MS, is a hidden gem like many of my post-it notes. There are so many great restaurants in this town along with great shopping, hotels, bookstores, and the University of Mississippi. Located about an hour and fifteen minutes south of Memphis, this town is worth checking out.
For dining in Oxford that were recommended to me by post-it notes, here are some great restaurants.
Caffecitos - Awesome way to start your day with this Oxford icon with great coffee and teas. They even have an awesome iced green tea. Big Bad Breakfast - The breakfast and lunch at this place is amazing. The breakfast and shrimp and grits are well worth the wait. Saint Leo - Italian dining meets Mississippi. Incredible pizza and Italian dining in the heart of Oxford, MS. The City Grocery - Another incredible dining experience in Oxford. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Mcewen's - A dining spot for dinner that will make you say Hotty Toddy. The appetizers, salads, and entrees are all amazing. Plus, the Wedge Salad and Duck are two menu items that you'll want to add.
For stays in Oxford, I have stayed at the following:Home 2 Suites by Hilton is very convenient to the Oxford area. Plus, the rooms were very nice and had a great breakfast to start your day with the buffet.
Oxford is also home to William Faulkner. The bookstores in the square reflect the influence he was on the community with his writing. The University of Mississippi is also worth stopping by with a beautiful campus, large Oaks, and historical buildings throughout the campus. If you are looking for a hidden gem to your travel in 2025, I'm looking forward to traveling back to Oxford again and checking out some more post-it note stops. #ridingwithkurt
