Red Lodge, MT

Located in Carbon County you'll find the Rustic Western Town of Red Lodge. It's generally seen as a small ski town during the winter, but it definitely has alot more year round to offer for the area. From hiking, fly-fishing, rafting, a couple good restaurants and hotels, and a decent ski mountain you can't go wrong here.

The fly fishing in Red Lodge is a hidden gem. Rivers and streams like Rock Creek, East Rosebud, and Stillwater offer exceptional fly-fishing to both Rainbow and Brown Trout. The area also offers fantastic lakes for catching trout as well at Mystic Lake.

For the White Water enthusiasts head to the Stillwater. It's not only an amazing fly-fishing spot but a great river for the white water rafting experience. A couple outfitters to check out are Adventure Whitewater and Absaroka River Adventures.

For hiking for the most exceptional views head to Mount Maurice Trailhead, Bear Track trail, Lake Fork Trailhead and Basin Lake Trailhead. All of these trails are amazing and easy drive from Red Lodge.

For those adults wanting a fun Saloon experience head to Snow Creek Saloon. It's a Saloon that is as classic as the town itself and definitely worth the stop for a fresh brew or drink after a day in the outdoors.

Restaurants include Carbon County Chop House, Foster and Logan's Pub and Grill, Palmita Mexican Restaurant, and Sam's Tap Room and Kitchen.

For hotels check-in to either Chateau Rouge or The Pollard hotel. Both offer great locations and positive reviews for a stay at both stops. Plus an additional bonus is they are with in walking distance of the town of Red Lodge.

From November until April the skiing and snowboarding in Red Lodge is amazing and a short drive from downtown. Great slopes and a mid size mountain are a great stop for those wanting to take on the slopes of Montana.

To get to Red Lodge travel west from Billings along Interstate 90. Take the Laurel exit and highway 212 to the town of Red Lodge.

Red Lodge has so much to see and do. The area will leave an incredible memory in your visit to Montana.
