Today, I was taking a rider out to Burns, TN, and decided to stop by Montgomery Bell State Park to grab a bite to eat at The Lodge and Restaurant. I have been coming here since I was a kid. The park has a hotel, restaurant, cabins, lakes, hiking, golf, and is only about 45 minutes away from Nashville.
The restaurant offers great food, including appetizers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and entrees. The service is excellent, and the views are amazing. Today, I started with the Roasted Red Pepper and smoked Gouda Soup. The flavor was amazing with a wonderful, silky texture. For entrees, I had the fried catfish with green beans and a cole slaw. The Fried Catfish was superb with great seasoning in the Cornmeal Breading. The sides were very good as well, plus the Tartar Sauce went well with the catfish. Definitely add this as a stop if you're looking to venture out of the Nashville area. #ridingwithkurt
