Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we are looking forward to Turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, yams, and maybe running. Yes, running is occurring on Thanksgiving Day with The Nashville Turkey Trot. This is an all ages event, and if you're a runner, then put your talent to the test on Thanksgiving Day when this fun event begins.
The Turkey Trot begins at the Wave Country parking lot and ends in the same areas. There are two options available with a 5 K event and a 10 mile race. Additionally, there is a kids' dash prior to the race. This is also an event that supports a great cause with the Special Olympics of Tennessee. After the race, each runner will enjoy a medal plus donuts from McGuagh's and a complimentary fleece or long sleeve shirt. For picking up your packet for the race, it's highly recommended that you pick it up the day prior to the race at Team Nashville located on West End.
If you'll be picking up your packet from the West End area, check out the Parthenon and Centennial Park as well. There are plenty of post-it note recommendations for the area where Team Nashville is located, especially for dining. A couple of restaurants that I have always enjoyed that were recommended to me around the pickup location for the Turkey Trot are Amerigo's, Jasper's. White Limozeen, Salsarita's, Thai Satay, Martin's BBQ, Elliston Place Soda Shop, and many more.
A great race with an amazing cause. With great donuts from McGuagh's and a day to be thankful, this is an event you'll want to be part of, especially when you are a runner. This all begins at Wave Country at 8:30 am. on Thanksgiving Day. Parking is available by Wave Country, but Ride Share is also recommended. Another fun event in Nashville, TN. #ridingwithkurt
