Williamsburg, VA

Williamsburg is a place of history and culture that stretches as far back as 1699. It is located east of Richmond and sits between the York and James River. The first ever established town is near here, which is Jamestown. There is plenty of historical buildings to see and do plus the reenactments offer a step back into colonial Virginia history.

For historical stops check out the Governors Palace, George Wyth House, and Colonial Williamsburg. All three offer a good depiction of history for the area and regardless of age everyone who visits these places recieves a good lesson on early Virginia history. Colonial Williamsburg Merchant Square also offers shopping and restaurants.

For the family check out Busch Gardens Williamsburg. You'll enjoy the excitement of the theme park, adventure of Busch Gardens, and the amazing European theme for the adventure goer. Rides, Coasters, Shows and theme park attractions allow everyone to be a kid again here.

For the art enthusiasts head to the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum. The museum showcases American Folk Art from quilts to sculptures, even classical paintings.

For restaurants in Williamsburg head to Fat Canary, Le Yaca French Restaurant, Second Street American Bistro, Kings Arm Tavern, and Shorty's Diner.

Hotels in Williamsburg that are go to are Kingsmill Resort, Wedmore Place, and Williamsburg Lodge.

A stop in Williamsburg will begin an amazing adventure to Virginia and will give one a sense of history, culture, and appreciation to early American History that this great state has to offer.
